CHICAGO – Chicago State women's track & field posted an eighth-place finish at the second-annual Great West Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of South Dakota on Feb. 26-27 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.
Sophomore Lanesha Sutton (Lansing, IL/Thornwood) (Lansing, Ill.) paced the Cougars in the meet as she placed eighth in the pentathlon after recording a total of 2,168 points that included a pair of sixth-place finishes in the shot put and high jump events.
Junior Peggy Moore (Toledo, OH/Libbey) (Toledo, Ohio) finished ninth in the high jump after completing a mark of 4-9, while freshman Amber White (Locust Grove, GA/Ola) (Locust Grove, Ga.) produced a personal-best time of 1:04.15 in the prelims of the 400-meter dash.
The Cougars complete the indoor portion of their 2010 schedule and will begin their outdoor season along with the men's team on March 27 at the SIU Gill Spring Classic in Carbondale, Ill.
