CHICAGO – Chicago State men's track and field team recorded five personal-best records in another national-caliber meet at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa on Feb. 12-13.
Junior Xavier Williams (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) (Chicago, Ill.) produced two PR marks with a time of 7.53 in the 60-meter dash and later recorded a throw of 33-4.75 in the shot put.
Junior Jamal Ephraim (Hazel Crest, IL/Lincoln College) (Hazel Crest, Ill.) has continued to shine in his first season with the Cougars as he posted a personal-best time of 22.61 in the 200-meter dash, shaving off .6 seconds off his previous PR mark.
Freshman Matthew Jordan (Mogadore, OH/Field) (Mogadore, Ohio) recorded a personal-best standard in the 3,000-meter run after crossing the finish line with a time of 9:21.86, while sophomore Tyler Turner (Joliet, Ill.) made a throw of 27-00.00 to set a new personal-best mark in his first time competing in the shot put event as a collegian.
CSU will compete in its final meet before next weekend's Great West Conference Indoor Championship meet in South Dakota with a trip to Milwaukee for the annual Milwaukee Tune-Up this Friday at UWM's Klotsche Center.
