Women’s Cross Country Competes at the NIU Huskie Open

Sophomore Neshia Robertson finished as CSU's top individual performer at the NIU Huskie Open

CHICAGO – Coming off a top-five finish at the UIC Home Opener last week, Chicago State women's cross country competed in its second meet of the season on Sept. 12 at the NIU Huskie Open in DeKalb, Ill.

CSU posted a ninth-place finish at the meet, which included area teams Northwestern and host Northern Illinois along with Milwaukee and Green Bay.

Sophomore Neshia Robertson (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) (South Holland, Ill.) paced the Cougar contingent in the meet as she completed the 5K race following hot, summerlike conditions and a rolling hill course with a time of 22:45.81, good for a 74th-place finish.

The Cougars will be on break from competition for two weeks to train for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago, on Oct. 3 starting at 11 a.m.
