CHICAGO – Chicago State men's cross country looked to continue its success on Sept. 12 following the UIC Opener a week ago at the NIU Huskie Open in DeKalb, Ill.
The Cougars braved through muggy and hot weather along with the course's rolling hills to post a sixth-place finish after completing the 8K race. Other teams competing in the race included Milwaukee, Green Bay and Western Illinois.
Competing in his first-ever collegiate meet, freshman Matthew Jordan (Suffield, OH/Field) (Mogadore, Ohio) finished as the top individual runner for CSU as he finished the race in 14th place with a time of 27:41.44.
CSU is idle for the next two weeks as it prepares for its biggest meet of the season on Oct. 3 at the annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago, beginning at 11 a.m.
