CHICAGO (Oct. 19, 2009) – Chicago State women's cross country competed in its first six-kilometer race of the season on Oct. 16 at the Bradley University Cross Country Classic, held at the Newman Golf Course in downstate Peoria. It was also the final regular season meet of the year for the Cougars.
Sophomore Neshia Robertson (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) (South Holland, Ill.) paced CSU in the meet by running for a time of 27:59.
Freshman Olivia Sloss (Country Club Hills, IL/Hillcrest) (Country Club Hills, Ill.), sophomore Sundra Smiley (Chicago, IL/Gwendolyn Brooks) (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Jasmine Allen (Chicago, IL/Olive-Harvey Middle College) (Chicago, Ill.) also competed for the Cougars.
The Cougars will head East to the Bronx, N.Y. for the 2009 Great West Championships, hosted by NJIT at Van Cortlandt Park on Oct. 31. The meet will begin at 8:30 a.m., central time.
