Cougars Drop 68-61 Heartbreaker at Eastern Michigan

Alyssa Waldon paced CSU with 17 points against Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. (Dec. 10, 2008) – Junior Alyssa Waldon (Sun Prairie, WI/Sun Prairie) (Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded 17 points as Chicago State women's basketball dropped a 68-61 decision at Eastern Michigan Wednesday evening at EMU's Convocation Center. The Eagles improved their season record to 3-6 and the Cougars dropped to 4-5 on the year.

 

CSU also received 10 points from freshman Jael Peña (Harlem, N.Y.). Pena tied senior Jasmin Dixon (Detroit, MI/Martin Luther King) (Detroit, Mich.) for game high honors with five steals while Dixon added nine points and seven assists.

 

Sophomore Cassie Schrock paced three EMU players in double figures with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Tavelyn James added 18 points, while sophomore Sydney Huntley-Rogers registered 12 points and nine assists.  

 

The Cougars return to action Friday evening with a road contest at Dayton with the scheduled tip-off at 6 p.m., central time.
