CHICAGO – Chicago State University (CSU) baseball announces the addition of four junior college transfers to the team beginning with the 2010-11 school year. Joining the Cougars this fall are catcher Jack Bobillo (Michigan City, Ind.), outfielders Rick Jordan (New Lenox, Ill.) and Weston Lewis (Denver, Colo.), and utility player Ryan Maholtra (Oakville, Ont.).

The quartet will join David Sindewald (Lansing, Ill.), Tony Sanchez (Plainfield, Ill.), Steven O’Hair (Phoenix, Ariz.), A.J. Reyes (Winter Haven, Fla.), Andrew Watson (Shawnee, Okla.), Dylan Sterrett (Frontier, Ind.) and Gavin Trevino (East Kentwood, Mich.) as newcomers to the team when preseason practice begins next month.

“The main reason we brought in these JUCO kids is because they are very talented ballplayers and they have experience which we lacked last year,” said CSU assistant coach Neal Frendling. “With the junior college pitchers we have brought in and the young freshmen we’re bringing in, it will come together as one of the most successful recruiting classes in recent memory for Chicago State baseball.”
