Women's Track & Field Opens 2010 Season at EIU Mega Meet

Sophomore Neshia Robertson posted an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run at the Eastern Illinois Mega Meet
CHICAGO (Jan. 26, 2010) – The Chicago State women’s track & field team kicked off its 2010 campaign on Jan. 23 at the Eastern Illinois Mega Meet at Lantz Fieldhouse in Charleston, Ill. The meet was the first for the Cougars under first-year head coach Diana Muhammad.
Sophomore Neshia Robertson (South Holland, Ill.) recorded a top-ten finish to pace the Cougars in the meet. Robertson finished eighth in the 800-meter run.
“I am happy with the progression of the team after our first meet of the year, Muhammad said. “Neshia posted a personal-best time in the 800 and the remaining squad members have performed very well. We look forward to participating in the Chicago Duals this weekend.”
The Cougars return to action this Saturday with the University of Chicago Duals beginning at 9 a.m.
